The RAZ Memory Cell Phone is designed to be simple and accessible — but some users accidentally make calls when the phone is placed in a pocket or bag. If your loved one is experiencing this issue, there are three effective solutions available to reduce or eliminate unwanted calls.

Option 1: Enable the “Call Confirmation” Setting

The RAZ Caregiver app offers a setting called “Show call confirmation screen.”

How it works:

• When the senior taps on a contact’s photo, instead of calling right away, the phone will ask for confirmation.

• The user must tap “Yes” to start the call.

• This prevents accidental calls from happening when the screen is tapped by mistake (e.g., in a pocket or by resting on a surface).

How to activate this setting:

1. Open the RAZ Caregiver app on your phone.
2. Select the appropriate phone/user.
3. Find the setting “Show call confirmation screen” and turn it on.

This is a quick and easy fix that gives the user an extra step before making a call, reducing false dials significantly.

Option 2: Adjust the call activation method

By default, calls are placed by pressing and holding a contact’s photo for about 1.5 seconds. However, you can make this action more deliberate to avoid accidental calls. Available options include:

• Tap & Hold Long – Requires a 3-second press. Ideal for reducing unintended calls.
  

• Double Tap – Calls are placed only with a quick double tap.
  

• Regular Tap – Initiates a call with a single tap (not ideal if false calls are frequent).
  
  

These settings can be changed through the RAZ Caregiver app or the RAZ online portal:
