Troubleshooting Guide – Walker Squawker Bird (Cardinal & Blue Jay)Updated 2 months ago

If your Joy For All companion (Walker Squawker Bird) no longer makes sounds or moves — here are a few simple steps to try to resolve the issue.

Check the batteries

  • The bird operates with 3 AAA batteries (included).

  • Check that the batteries are properly installed and in good condition.

  • If needed, replace them with new batteries.

Understand how the tail works

  • Press the tail once → The bird activates and talks or chirps.

  • Press the tail a second time → The bird enters song mode with its repertoire of 6 melodies.

  • Press and hold for 3 seconds → The bird turns off completely.

  • 💡 Note: When you press once, it does not sing — it talks. For music, you must press twice.

Touch response

  • If you pet the bird, it should coo softly.

  • This behavior only works if:

    • The bird is not attached to its magnet, and

    • It is not in song mode.

Environment detection

  • Once placed on a walker, the bird can respond to movement.

  • If you stop walking, it may play a melody (“don’t forget me”) to encourage you to resume.

Automatic sleep mode

  • After a few minutes of inactivity, the bird enters silent sleep mode.

  • Press its tail once to wake it up.

Volume and deactivation

  • The volume cannot be adjusted.

  • To prevent the bird from making noise, two options:

    • Press and hold the tail for 3 seconds to turn it off.

    • Remove the batteries if you want to make it completely inactive.

  • This approach may be useful if the bird is causing unintentional agitation around it.
